In phase one, neighbourhood police teams in the north of the city would be moved to Radford Road Fire Station or council buildings.
Phase two would see the central police station in Little Park Street shut and sold off to make about £3m and save about £770,000 a year in costs
The report said "police visibility" around communities would not be affected by the plan because it would maintained by local patrols.
Plans would not be finalised until December after consultation had taken place, the report said.
How this will promote a safer city I am really not sure as police forces around the UK have said that local communities should be more active in the investigation of local crime.
Would you feel it your duty to do so?
Would you intervene if required to in a violent crime?
Do you know you rights as far as Physical Intervention/Conflict Management are concerned in UK Law?
